Any person who thinks that taxation is unfair should try living alone on an island and becoming self-sufficient.
I can’t remember which fairy tale included the concept that someone like Robin Hood was a bit of a hero because he took from the rich and gave the takings to the poor.
Karl Marx had much the same idea with the concept "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs".
Capitalism and Communism would appear to be direct opposites and someone has to provide the wherewithal to keep modern society moving forward in a civilized fashion. Either the State makes all the profits by providing all the jobs, or free enterprise “entrepreneurs” make all of them, and, along with all workers they are taxed, which in turn allows the government to provide public services.
Is that fair? Society is, by its very nature, designed to achieve balance.
The basis of most tax systems follow the ideas of Marx, but it’s arguable that death duty constitutes double taxation and that really is “unfair”!
